2011 Grail Handicap Shoot

Following on from the 2010 Grail Handicap Shoot series, we propose to run a similar set of shoots for the 2011 season.

There will be four rounds - each an individual handicap competition, but also gaining points towards the overall Grail trophy which will be awarded to the overall series winner as last year.

Because the competition is based on handicap it is essential that anyone wishing to compete in the series has a starting handicap (this is gained by submitting 3 recognised counter-signed score rounds to the club secretary in the usual way - if in doubt ask other members or contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it - Club Secretary). The handicap system helps to ensure that everyone is competing on a comparable basis.

The proposed dates are:

Saturday 14th May - National rounds (excl New National rounds)

Saturday 18th June - Albion / Windsor

Saturday 16th July - Western rounds (excl New Western rounds)

Saturday 13th August - St George / Albion / Windsor

If anyone spots any diary clashes with other competitions / events can you please let me ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) know as soon as possible. I believe this year we will be combining one or more of these shoots with a social event (e.g. BBQ) and we will let you know details nearer the events.

As last year, the shoots will be held under GNAS competition rules (with a relaxation of the dress code).

Sighters will be at 12 noon prompt, with shooting commencing at 12:15PM

Everyone is welcome, novice or experienced alike, and it doesn't matter whether you have shot in a competition before or not. Even if you do not have a handicap you are welcome to join in and experience a competition format shoot(s)

The points based on position from each round will count towards an overall handicap leader board, that will be published after each round on the notice board. This makes the whole thing more open - and don't forget the winners from the last round will need to shoot all the better because there handicaps will have reduced!!

As always help before-hand getting out sufficient bosses would be appreciated.

Look forward to seeing you all there
